Polar Bears, Snow Leopards & Big Cats: An Unforgettable Night Out
Lions and tigers and … well, there won’t be bears. But you’ll get to hear about all kinds of bears, from grizzly to panda to polar, at the Oct. 3 Epic & Epicurean wildlife adventure event hosted by Cedar Cove Feline Conservatory & Education Center in Louisburg.
Technically, we’ll still be in Kansas, but we’ll see big cats native to many parts of the globe at the sanctuary. We’ll also learn about the enthralling trips Natural Habitat Adventures and Lindblad Expeditions conduct all over the world: domestically, in the polar regions and just about everywhere in between.
Our journey starts at Leawood Town Center (on the north side behind Central Bank located at 4801 Town Center Dr., Leawood, KS 66211), from where one motorcoach will depart at 4 p.m. and another at 4:30 to take us to Cedar Cove, where we’ll meet the majestic cats the sanctuary works so hard to give their best lives. After the tour, we’ll enjoy refreshments and a culinary experience curated by Jewell’s Jamzz.
The incomparable Lesa Bain will speak about some of the amazing small-group Nat Hab itineraries that promote conservation through exploration and the unique collaboration of Lindblad and National Geographic that has come to define expedition cruising.
To cap the event, the coaches will return us to Town Center. Seating on the coaches is limited, so let me know if I can save your spot. Then one day when you’re trekking snow leopards in Mongolia or polar bears in Svalbard, you can close your eyes, tap your heels together three times and think to yourself, “I’m so glad I left home.”
